Philosophy of 14U Lacrosse

14U lacrosse is where young athletes begin emerging into a competitive environment. The game they play should be reinforcing fundamental technical skills and practical tactical applications for playing lacrosse. Essentially they are preparing to be competitors. With respect to the competition at this level, coaches, parents, and officials should emphasize:

  • Fun
  • Using technical skills in game situation
  • Exploring and applying new tactical skills
  • Sportsmanship

History of Valkyrie Girls Lacrosse

By Sconnie Lacrosse, Inc. 04/01/2021, 4:30pm CDT

In 2018, the Appleton Lacrosse Club started the first youth girls team in the Fox Valley. As the only youth girls program in the area, Appleton welcomed players from all surrounding school districts. The first team was a combined U12/U14 team with 20 players from 7 different school districts - Appleton, Combined Locks, Freedom, Hortonville, Howard-Suamico, Kaukauna and Kimberly. After 2 seasons with good numbers from a broad area, Green Bay Youth Lacrosse has successfully split off and formed their own youth girls program. Congratulations to both Clubs!

This season,  Appleton Lacrosse Club will join the Kimberly Area Lacrosse Association and the Neenah Lacrosse Club to form Valkyrie Girls Lacrosse under the umbrella of Sconnie Lacrosse, Inc. The purpose of this co-op program is to help bring greater awareness to youth girls lacrosse in the Fox Valley and to build each program so that they can also form their own youth girls programs. More local teams will not only raise the level of play, but also reduce costs and travel. #playlax

It's a beautiful day for lacrosse!
